The Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH)

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH) has remained committed to advancing public health and facilitating research through various technology initiatives, including the implementation of registries and electronic dashboards that provide timely and relevant population health information. 

Developed Disease Registries 

The Initiative concentrated on ten prevalent diseases (each designated as a Disease) and successfully established a comprehensive framework for healthcare regulators, researchers, and professionals to acquire valuable insights into the management and outcomes of these Diseases. The Diseases addressed within the Initiative encompass:

  • Obesity
  • Cancer
  • Mental Health
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Diabetes Mellitus
  • Cardiovascular
  • Screening (Newborn, Well-child, Antenatal)
  • Chronic Respiratory Disease
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Osteoporosis
  • Artificial Reproductive Therapy
  • Rare Disease

To support improved disease management, the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Health Data Services (ADHDS), has developed dedicated registries for each Disease. Each registry organizes and consolidates relevant data to support long-term tracking and assessment. Based on these registries, electronic dashboards have been delivered to monitor key indicators for each disease. Each Registry and Dashboard now serves as an essential tool for tracking disease incidence, prevalence, mortality, and other outcomes, while also enabling the monitoring of care quality and the identification of patients at risk of complications.
